MODENA. The protests of the people residing in the Lambda condominium on via Emilia Ovest in Modena, the scene of profound degradation and criminal acts, as well as those of the residents of the houses bordering the building, do not subside. The reason is that there are areas of the condominium that are still in a situation of profound degradation, such as the former caretaker’s house and the courtyard area belonging to the building, in addition to the fact that “often at night it is not possible to sleep at due to people arguing heavily, shouting and sometimes attacking each other”, report residents, including single mothers with small children. Last week, after an article published on Journal, there was an intervention by the local police who took steps to clean up part of the common areas, but left some areas very dirty, reports those who live there. “Although some cleaning was done at Lambda last week, unfortunately the former caretaker’s apartment was not touched and is still in very poor condition”, confirm both some residents of the condominium and people who live in the houses whose views open onto the eastern courtyard area of the offending building. «We have tolerated this situation for years – continue the residents – but enough is enough, we can’t take it anymore. We are also afraid to live here, broken-in apartments are commonplace and up to 10 people live in studio flats.” «We wonder why the condominium administrator is unable to enforce the basic health, decorum and safety rules – adds those who live in nearby houses – is it possible that if we open the windows of our houses we have to see so much degradation? We have endured for too long, now we can’t take it anymore.” Residents and condominium owners of neighboring buildings are wondering “how the condominium administrator is unable to put an end to such a situation and does not act accordingly.” In the meantime, given the huge condominium expenses of the building, a group of foreign people, mostly rented by the owners of the apartments, mostly from Modena, launched a signature collection to change the administrator as soon as possible, given the widespread discontent. Meanwhile, in the caretaker’s house and in the garden there remain dirty and broken mattresses, abandoned furniture, dirty used clothes, bottle glass and waste of all kinds, even with food remains where cockroaches, cockroaches and rats are roaming. The former caretaker’s apartment is still used as a night bivouac for homeless people.
