Gioia Tauro it is the only municipality in the province of Reggio Calabria which has more than 15 thousand inhabitants in the next administrative elections and therefore where a run-off is expected. Contending for the mayor’s seat, left by the outgoing Aldo Alessio, are Renato Bellofiore, Mariarosaria Russo, Simona Scarcella and Rosario Schiavone.

In Reggio a total of 26 municipalities will go to the polls. In San Luca no list was provided and therefore the Municipality will be placed under a commissioner.
