Voting today and tomorrow for the European elections, 60 seats in Altamura
Today and tomorrow we will vote for the renewal of the European Parliament. Italy elects 76 members of Parliament, elected with a proportional system with a threshold of 4%; the entire national territory is divided into five electoral constituencies, each of which elects a certain number of parliamentarians. Altamura is part of the 4th district (Southern Italy), which includes the regions of Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Molise and Puglia. The southern constituency has 18 deputies.

Italian or European Union citizens with legal residence in Italy, who are at least 18 years of age, can vote. The vote is expressed by selecting a single list among those participating in the electoral competition, with the possibility of expressing up to a maximum of three preferences among the candidates belonging to the chosen list. If two or three preferences are expressed, the chosen candidates must be of different genders.

In Altamura there are 60 electoral sections. The polls open today at 3pm and remain open until 11pm; tomorrow 9 June polls open from 7am to 11pm. As usual, you must show up at the polling stations with your identity card and electoral card. For those who need to renew their documents, without the need for an appointment, the identity card counter and the electoral office counter used for issuing/renewing electoral cards are open at these times:
– Saturday 8 June, from 09:00 to 13:00 and from 15:00 to 23:00;
– Sunday 9 June, from 7.00 to 23.00
