In Reggio Calabria the Democratic Party takes away 130 thousand euros from healthcare and welfare

StrettoWeb

Yesterday, the Administration of the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria led by the Mayor Giuseppe Falcomatà of the Democratic Party he announced triumphantly the allocation of 140 thousand euros for the Varia of Palmi and others 50 thousand euros For Scirubetta. Two very important events which certainly bring enormous benefits to the Reggio area not only in terms of related industries and economy, but also for culture and tourism.

But where does this money come from? The press release of the Metropolitan City, in fact, speaks generically of “budget change”and that means previously those figures were destined for something else. By consulting the specific document, we can see that most of this sum (130 thousand euros out of the total 190) comes from healthcare and come on social services. In fact, 80 thousand euros are taken from the spending chapter of the territorial areas on socio-health projects, 30 thousand euros from the partnership with third sector bodies, 10 thousand euros from the planning of the network of socio-health and social services and finally another 10 thousand euros from the service civil intended for social inclusion.

Here is the official document signed by Falcomata:

Still regarding the expenses to which the Mayor dem commits the Reggio authorities, it is worth remembering that just a few days ago Falcomata had arranged in the Council (in that case the Municipality) an allocation of well 120 thousand euros for the acquisition of the brand Reggina by the Court’s Bankruptcy Receiver, for a lot that in addition to the history of the glorious amaranth club also included baby onesies, kitchen pot holders, hangers and gas lighters. Luckily (for the municipal coffers and also for the future of Reggina) the private company that leads the club offered more and was awarded the lot, but it remains the political choice of the Mayor That in a few days it has allocated 330 thousand euros for patronal celebrations, pastry events and football teams. So much for the city’s priorities and the alibi, obsessively repeated to justify the degradation of the city in recent years, according to which “we can’t do anything because we have no money”.

These choices seem even more serious if we consider that the same Democratic party daily accuses the Meloni government of make cuts to healthcare and of “waste money” In the Bridge over the Straitas they would be more useful to the usual generic and elusive “other priorities”and what’s more the Democratic Party says this after having governed Italy continuously for 11 years in which he constantly cut funding for healthcare, he did not build the bridge or any other infrastructure work in Calabria and Sicily. And even today, where he rules, it takes away money from welfare and healthcare to finance village festivals…
