Tight controls by the Carabinieri in Foligno: a drunk driver reported

Over the past weekend, the Carabinieri of the Foligno Company significantly intensified their territorial control services, with the aim of preventing and repressing predatory crimes. The activities were conducted by the crews of the Company’s Radiomobile Section and allowed 230 vehicles, 290 people and 19 commercial businesses to be checked, also raising 20 violations of the Highway Code.

During these checks, the police identified a 30-year-old local man who, while driving his car, was found to have a blood alcohol level equal to double the limit permitted by law. The young man was therefore handed over to the Judicial Authority in a state of freedom for the crime of driving while intoxicated, with the simultaneous withdrawal of his driving licence. Furthermore, during the operations, the Carabinieri reported to the Prefecture of Perugia two individuals aged 34 and 27, of Albanian origin, found in possession of a small quantity of narcotic substances in the historic center of Foligno.

These results demonstrate the intense commitment made by the Carabinieri of the Foligno Company in guaranteeing the security of the territory and respect for legality. The massive and targeted deployment of forces in the field, together with widespread checks on vehicles, people and businesses, has made it possible to identify and report illicit conduct such as driving while intoxicated and drug possession, underlining how the force is constantly on the front line in the fight against phenomena that represent a danger to the community.

These actions are part of a broader strategy to prevent and combat crime, aimed at guaranteeing a high standard of safety for the citizens of the area and discouraging dangerous and illegal behaviour, to protect public health and safety. Fo opens move news
