The Metrocity thinks about events that enhance the territories and for this reason it has decided on a change in the budget.
The metropolitan city of Reggio Calabria has thus allocated the total sum of 140 thousand euros for the holding of the 2024 edition of the event dedicated to the Varia di Palmi.
The resolution constitutes an important investment by Palazzo Alvaro for the promotion of an event which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and which already last year achieved enormous success in terms of attendance and tourist attractiveness, not only for the town on the plain but for the entire metropolitan area.
Metrocity’s intention to invest in a key sector such as that of the creation of events capable of enhancing territorial peculiarities, proposing them in a national and international context capable of guaranteeing greater tourist attractiveness and a significant economic and employment spin-off is therefore confirmed. .
In fact, after the success of 2023, the Varia di Palmi will return again this year, constituting one of the most significant hubs of tourist programming throughout the metropolitan area.
Not only Palmi however, among the objectives of the Metrocity there is also another important international festival: Scirubetta.
In the same budget change resolution, the Palazzo Alvaro institution has allocated an investment of 50 thousand euros to support another highly successful event for the metropolitan area organized in collaboration with the Confederation of Italian Pastry Chefs, declaring officially the Institution’s interest in collaborating on a stable basis for the organization of the now traditional Scirubetta international ice cream festival, scheduled for next September to coincide with the Marian holidays in Reggio Calabria.
Also in this case it is an event that has already attracted extraordinary public success in previous editions, thanks to the activity promoted by the master ice cream makers of the metropolitan city whose extraordinary qualities have established themselves this year as part of Sigep 2024, the largest dessert fair in the world.
Scirubetta’s objective, with the support of Metrocity, is therefore to make Reggio Calabria the world capital of ice cream, attracting the greatest national and international exponents of the confectionery art, and exporting the Reggio Calabrian brand well outside the metropolitan borders .
