Lilac chaos, between logistical and economic problems

Legnano – Almost a month from playoff lost against Castellanzese The situation in Legnano remains extremely unclear. Not only for everything concerning the purely sporting future, but also on a logistical level. On Thursday, speaking to Sempionenews, Il president Aeneas Benedetto he said referring to relations with the municipal administration: “It was also possible to close due to an extension of the existing agreement regarding the Giovanni Mari Stadium. Next year it will still be our home.”

In reality, things are not exactly like this, as explained by the person most responsible for dealing with the issue, the councilor in charge of sport Guido Bragato: “It is true that on Thursday I met President Benedettoexplains – but at the end of the meeting the extension he talks about was not signed. My position and that of the council is that of wanting to make the Giovanni Mari Stadium available to Legnano Calcio, regardless of the category or the owners, but we need certainties. For us the important thing is that the Lilacs continue to be there and that they can play in their historic facility, but at the moment we prefer to wait to have the situation clearer.”.

Bragato himself also explains how during the meeting he had with the top manager of Legnano there were references to possible buyers interested in purchasing the company: “If anyone else arrives he needs to knowcontinues the councilor – that the council wants to help the lilac reality starting from the assignment of the Giovanni Mari. As happened last summer with the then president Montanari, however, it is necessary to set some boundaries, starting from a clear situation at management level as well as the category in which the team will be registered”.

Missing money?

As mentioned, logistics are not the only current problem for Legnano, who yesterday announced that they had mutually terminated the contract with the technicians Gianluca Zattarin and Augusto Rasori, with the team manager Stefano Vercellotti and the managers Salvatore Soviero and Stefano Pianicinthe. According to Vercellotti himself there would have been no consensuality in this move, indeed there is talk of an action totally decided by Benedict. To date, however, the main problem seems to be linked to the waivers, which are decisive for closing the disputes with members and being able to register in Eccellenza or Serie D in the event of a repechage: many complain about the absence of salaries and payments, thus justifying the lack of signature on the release. On Monday 3 June the decisive money should have arrived to unlock this passage, but as a lilac player no one saw anything coming in. This fact keeps Legnano dangerously in suspense once again. Until?
