The International Academy of Music Festival returns from 15 June to 14 July 2024 with classical and jazz concerts throughout the province of Lucca, between Garfagnana, Mediavalle and Alta Versilia. The festival, which for 22 editions has brought a calendar full of music for everyone, from the most refined Italian jazz to international classical music, with consolidated artists and new promises from all over the world, was born from an ambitious project of the Civic School of Music in collaboration with the Municipality of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana. The international classical and jazz music festival “International Academy of Music”, in its Italian headquarters, offers 27 concerts this year, of which 22 are free admission.
The festival was presented to the press, at Palazzo Ducale, by Andrea Tagliasacchi, mayor of Castelnuovo Garfagnana and president of the Union of Garfagnana Municipalities, Simona Girelli, councilor with responsibility for associations, events, commerce and tourism of the Municipality of Borgo a Mozzano, Marcella Pioli councilor for the budget of the Municipality of Fosciandora, Pietro Salatti, vice-president of BVLG Banca Versilia Lunigiana and Garfagnana, Vincenzo Di Riccio, private banker branch manager of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana Mediolanum bank, Monica Pieli, president of the Civic School of Music of Castelnuovo Garfagnana, Andrea Guidi, managing director Guidi Gino Spa, Piero Gaddi, organizational director of the International Academy of Music Festival (in the photos).
Let’s start with jazz. On Isola Santa Giovanni Albini and Emanuele Cisi will color the lake with jazz, accompanying the public towards the sunset on the evening of Saturday 15 June. Also on Saturday 15th an encore of concerts, at 6.30pm and 9.30pm, the ticket includes two concerts and an aperitif to be enjoyed on the green lake of Isola Santa. Then an unprecedented novelty of this edition: a concert in the small square in front.
