Gianni Boscolo, the father and historic director of the Piemonte Parchi magazine, has died

Is dead Gianni Boscolo the journalist who created and directed Piemonte Parchi for years, the monthly magazine of the Piedmont Region dedicated to the dissemination and reflection on the issues of protected areas, one of the precursors of environmental communication and nature conservation in Italy.

The former managers and directors of the regional protected areas of Piedmont recalled this on Piemonte Parchi

Gianni Boscolo represented a lot, a lot, for us in the first team of the Parks management, as we know he also represented a point of reference for all the parks staff.

His figure was in particular that of bringing the culture of mature and responsible journalism into the world of nature, too often closed in on itself in a world made up of scientific cultures of nature and little of the culture of words and communication.

With him, Piemonte Parchi has become a true magazine, and not just a house organ public, creating a unique example at a national level. But there is a second thing that remains in our hearts:

that of having us meet in Cascina Le Vallere to talk to each other, ask questions to each other, outside and above meeting to talk about “management problems”.

A season that unfortunately the Piedmont Region had then decreed as over, eliminating its Service. A bad efficiencyist page, which had absolutely nothing efficient about it, because it is always useful to be equipped with structures and investments for Culture. Today we are where we are also because too little has been invested in creating “ecological culture”.

Gianni, for these and a thousand other reasons, you are and remain in our minds and in our hearts and we would like to talk about this again in the coming times, paying tribute to you even more than these words of ours that we send you in these sad days at the beginning of June, but together even loaded with memory. We guard it and we will not disperse it.
