The average price for umbrellas and sunbeds in this summer of 2024 is 228 euros per week, according to the annual survey of Altroconsumo in 10 Italian seaside resorts including Anzio.
To establish the cost of place on beaches the consumer association collected the rates of 211 beach establishments.
This year too, the continuous upward variations in the price lists have emerged, which have now become a slow and constant trend and are stratified on more significant increases that have occurred in past years (the average 5% in 2023 and 10% in 2022).

Altroconsumo has also collected the rates charged by beach establishments in ten Italian locations for summer 2024:
- Lignano,
- Rimini,
- Senigallia,
- Viareggio,
- Palinuro,
- Alassio,
- Gallipoli,
- Alghero,
- Taormina
- Naxos Gardens
- Anzio)
All 211 beach establishments present in these 10 coastal municipalities were contacted by telephone. Fares for the first four rows for the week from 4 to 10 August were requested anonymously.
Prices and increases noted
On average the first row costs 226 eurosa figure that is gradually reduced as you choose the next rows: in the second row the average cost is 210 euros, 199 euros in the third, 186 from the fourth onwards.
The survey also compares this year’s fares with those of last year, taking the average cost of the first four rows as a reference.
In some cases there is good news: in Lignano, Taormina and Giardini Naxos, for example, there was no increase compared to last year.
However, there was some increase in Alghero and Gallipoli (2%), Alassio and Palinuro (3%), Rimini (4%) and Viareggio (5%). Anzio appears to be in this range with a +3%.
The increase recorded in Senigallia (8%) is higher, but in line with inflation, although it remains the least expensive location in the survey.
The data relating to Anzio
For Anzio Altroconsumo monitored 17 beach establishments.
Front row prices were not reported in the study. The average rate in the week between 4 and 10 August 2024 for an umbrella and two sunbeds is 180 euros for the second row, 179 euros for the third row e 149 euros from the fourth row onwards.
These are average rates, so the price may vary from one establishment to another.
