Sentence reduced from 11 to six years and eight months in Cassation. This is the sentence issued yesterday by the Supreme Court against Bruno Micci, the 62-year-old from Fondano who bludgeoned his 86-year-old father to death in 2019. The man, defended by the lawyer Maurizio Forte, remains in prison. The first sentence was imposed by the Assize Court of the Latina court presided over by Gianluca Soana, and confirmed on appeal, while the request of the public prosecutor Martina Taglione was 12 years.
The story dates back to 7 December 2019, when the man attacked the parent with extreme violence. The then 59-year-old was accused of manslaughter aggravated by kinship: according to what was reconstructed by the investigations, his intention was not to kill his parent but the extent of the beatings that the elderly man suffered still led to his death within a few days. The tragedy occurred in their home in Fondi at the end of one of the numerous arguments between father and son. Discussions that had been going on for some time and that became more and more heated as the days passed. That December 7, according to the reconstruction made by the investigators, after the verbal attacks the man moved on to aggression: he took the elderly man, threw him to the ground and began hitting him with very violent kicks. The 86-year-old tried to parry the blows inflicted by his son but his attempts proved in vain. The condition of the elderly man, who suffered a broken collarbone and femur, had already appeared desperate when the 118 rescuers arrived, who immediately transported him to the Fiorini hospital in Terracina where the doctors tried to save his life but without success. The 86-year-old died after a few days of agony due to the serious injuries he sustained. The son was immediately arrested on charges of manslaughter with the aggravating circumstance of kinship.
