Intermediate care directly from the Monoblocco di Carrara in Fossone

PRESS RELEASE

The intermediate care service will be transferred as soon as possible from the Carrara Monobloc to the Fossone RSA, without intermediate steps to other locations as mentioned by some in recent days.

The USL Tuscany North West company highlights this by taking stock of the interventions underway.

At present, the transfers of the onco-haematological DH to the Apuane hospital have been carried out (completed by the end of December), of the outpatient and minor ophthalmology surgery activities to Pavilion H of Monterosso (movement which took place at the end of May following to the functional and fire prevention adaptation of the building), of the services in the module clinics (transfer completed at the end of May).

Furthermore, fire safety adaptation works are being completed on the portion of the block that will remain active (part of the ground and first floors).

Most of the interventions were therefore carried out as planned.

For the RSA of Fossone, unfortunately, there have been huge delays in the delivery of the components of the lift that must be assembled and, despite continuous meetings and daily reminders to the executing company, it has not been possible to reduce the installation times of this lifting system, which represents the central problem for the opening and functioning of the structure. The other internal works are almost completed and some external renovation work remains to be carried out.

However, the ASL is working to complete the works within the expected deadlines.
