Genoa – “Strong concern for an administrative action that has slowed down in recent weeks” and “for the phase that the Port System Authority is going through and the effects it could produce on the management of the port”. The port operators and the Savona administrations raise the alarm with a letter addressed to the extraordinary commissioner of the Adsp del Mar Western Ligurian, Paolo Piacenza, to say that “it is necessary to move forward with the essential practices and projects for the Savona and Vado Ligure ports” and there must be no “unjustified delays in time”.
The appeal signed by the Province and Municipality of Savona, terminal operators section of the Industrial Union, Isomar, Port Users Union and trade unions, who have chosen to “speak with one voice“, it is clear: “While respecting the institutional roles and understanding the right caution dictated by the particular moment, we are asked to take into due consideration the needs of the Savona and Vado airport – they explain – avoiding an unjustified delay in time also with respect to important and urgent practices already instructed by the offices for short and medium term interventions”.
The reference is clearly toinvestigation that led to arrests in prison for the former president Paolo Emilio Signorini and under house arrest for the president of the Region Giovanni Toti and the port entrepreneur Aldo Spinelli. On track there are “long-term projects, such as the full commissioning of cable cars, which remain crucial for the development prospects of the port, as well as for its accessibility and for the interaction between port and city” but also “urgent activities which guarantee operational continuity, for which the preparatory work of the offices requires the necessary deliberative steps to be carried forward”.
