THE YOUNG CASERTA THAT WINS. Boy from San Prisco first in the research competition on sustainable mobility

On May 11th the MOB (national competition for research into sustainable mobility) crowns Luigi Viaggiano, a young boy from San Prisco, winner among over two thousand five hundred participants. Presented by Jody Cecchetto and with special guest Vincenzo Schettini, known on social media as “The physics we like”, the province of Caserta triumphs with the ideas of the rectenna and the Peltier cell

CASERTA (alfonso centore)- “Caserta (or rather San Prisco) city of science”, this is how we can summarize the feat of Luigi Viggiano, a young eighteen-year-old student at the Liceo Garofano in Capua, who found himself on the roof of one of the research competitions as a child. most important sustainable science in Italy, the “MOB“, which fuels the progress of mobility according to the canons ofAgenda 2030 established byUN.

Passing through the selections of over 2500 competitors, which took place in 2023, and various intermediate tests which led our Luigi to compete among the top fifteen in the nation, success arrived last May 11th, thanks to the presentations of projects on Rectenna and the Peltier cell.

Briefly, the first is positioned as an instrument capable of capturing electromagnetic waves present in the external environment and transforming them into electrical energy, making it applicable inside a vehicle in place of common thermal or electric engines, favoring consumption costs.

The second, however, is nothing more than a plate that exploits the temperature differences created between the upper and lower sides to produce energy. Likewise, the latter is also a solution applicable to most vehicles to ensure sustainable development.

The entire MOB project was supported and supervised by various prominent personalities on social media, and not only: among everyone Jody Cecchetto who acted as presenter of the event throughout its entire duration in the final stages, held atUnipol Auditorium in Bologna on the date indicated above. Also present Vincenzo Schettinibetter known as “The Physics We Like” on social profiles, to support and support competitors’ ideas and Giovanni Morienvironmental engineer and candidate in the next European elections.

We at CasertaCe managed to extract a short statement from our winner, which we attach below:

“It was already a great surprise to be selected in the first step among the top 15 out of over 2500 participants, let alone reach 1st place. Thanks to the MOB project I lived a unique, challenging but extremely rewarding experience. For the result achieved I owe a lot to my friends and my professors who supported me. A special thanks goes to my family who always pushed me to continue and do my best. I dedicate this important result to them.”

The only limit for Luigi, at the moment, appears to be the practical application, as his scientifically valid ideas require application potential, which can only be achieved through external funding as the costs of producing and testing certain machinery are particularly demanding, especially for a young student.
