The entire Giostra district joins in a final farewell to Michele Lanfranchi, the 19-year-old young man who tragically passed away on the night between 1st and 2nd June in via Michelangelo Rizzo, hit by a bullet.

Yesterday, Michele’s body was returned to his family after the autopsy which, according to initial findings, could confirm the trace of tragic coincidence, even if many details still remain to be clarified.

The community paid homage to the young man with a grand ceremony in the small square of Villa Lina. At 9.30, the square was animated by fireworks, colored balloons and neo-melodic music. Subsequently, at 11.00, the procession, after having marched along Via Garibaldi, moved to the cemetery where an evangelical pastor imparted the final blessing.

We remind you that Giovanni Laganà, owner of the former bakery, now transformed into a home, where the attack allegedly took place, is under investigation for the death of Michele Lanfranchi. According to the testimonies of those present that tragic night, it was an accident. After the shot, Michele’s body was taken to the street to await help. The nature of the relationship between Michele and the Laganà family remains to be clarified, as do the circumstances of the gun found next to the body, which according to some witnesses, the young man had obtained a few days earlier.
