Monza: An arrest for drug dealing in the abandoned building

On Wednesday, the Territorial Security Operational Unit (NOST) and the canine unit of the Local Police of Monza carried out an intervention to combat the drug dealing phenomena in the abandoned building between via Galvani and via Pacinotti in Monza which led to the arrest and incarceration of a 34-year-old homeless Moroccan national.

The presence of drug dealing activities near the building was already known to the agents, who had launched stakeouts in the area on several occasions since last year. An intense suspicious coming and going had in fact also been noticed by the citizens themselves and reported with numerous complaints presented to the Municipality, but the Local Police officers had so far only managed to stop people in possession of narcotic substances for personal use and not the person responsible for the drug dealing, skilled disappearing among the abandoned buildings.

The operation carried out on Wednesday 5 June was therefore carried out by applying a precise procedure: after having intercepted a buyer as he was leaving the building, the NOST staff and the dog unit entered the building, while other agents guarded the building and checked it. every possible exit, managing to identify the person responsible for the drug dealing phenomena and arrest him after blocking his escape attempt. The intervention involved 3 patrols with 3 officers and 4 operators.

The Judge, after having validated the arrest, ordered the application of the measure of imprisonment to the accused at the Monza prison.
