The Serie A championship restarts after an essentially useless break and offers the first day of the second round. Leaders San Marino face Macerata and as happened in the first leg, the two teams alternate in the role of “home team”: tonight they play in the Marche and tomorrow they repeat in Serravalle (new times 4.30pm and 8.30pm).
We start again with San Marino in front of everyone: Bindi’s team played the double head-to-head match against Bologna and Parma almost perfectly, obtaining five victories which put them in solitary first place.
The triptych with Macerata, however, recommends keeping your eyes wide open. «It’s a valuable team – claims the Titans’ manager, Doriano Bindi – which has added important players and is dangerous. We know Quattrini, he’s a top-level pitcher, but also watch out for the other starters Moreno and Correa.” San Marino will instead respond with the three usual starters, Pedrol, Pomponi and De Leon.
The objective for San Marino does not change. “I’ve been saying it since the eve of the championship: the important thing is to win the series, as we’ve always done, three times 2-1 and twice 3-0.”
Pros and cons of your first round? «The pitchers did a great job, we hope they maintain this level. We need to improve a little in defense but the important thing is to get to the moments that count well. I certainly would have avoided this stop.”
