Due to the serious cyber attack, the hospitals of Rho, Garbagnate and Bollate were forced to postpone non-urgent surgical operations and to suspend many outpatient services.
Hacker attack against Asst Rhodense: computer systems in haywire and interventions postponed
RHO – On the night between 5 and 6 June the IT network of the ASST Rhodense suffered a major cyber attack which involved all the offices (garbagnate Milanese, Bollate, Rho and Passirana and territorial services of the Garbagnatese, Rhodense district areas and Corsican).
Stop nuclear medicine, radiology and analysis laboratories
The Management – says the hospital company – in concert with the technicians, is working to verify the situation while guaranteeing essential services. The ASST has organized a user reception service in each facility, in order to inform them and take care of any requests.
The provision of already scheduled outpatient services is guaranteed, except those of nuclear medicinefor example MOC, of radiology (CT scans, MRIs, X-rays and Mammograms) and analysis laboratory (including blood tests). The activities relating to. are suspended – adds the ASST Rhodense non-urgent surgical interventions and those for booking at the CUP, scheduled hospitalization and sampling points (TAO patients can contact the reception of the Bollate, Garbagnate and Rho hospitals for information on how to carry out the tests necessary for the management of the therapy).
Activate the emergency rooms
The emergency rooms in Garbagnate and Rho remain active (only the dispatch of ambulances has been suspended) but, in cases of urgency, citizens are advised to contact other structures. It is currently not possible to estimate the recovery times of the company network and we ask for everyone’s collaboration, especially in these first moments of reorganization of activities.
Specialists from the National Cybersecurity Agency are arriving
The Lombardy Region – it is also reported – involved Aria technicians who intervened on site this morning and activated the regional Cyber Security Task Force. The National Cybersecurity Agency was also informed and is sending its specialists. Analysis activities are underway to understand the ways in which the attack took place, verify the availability of ‘clean’ backups and the situation of all the individual systems and prepare a recovery plan for data, services and applications.
