TARI exemption/reduction for the year 2024: from 6pm today the deadlines for submitting requests for eligible taxpayers have reopened

Upon the deadline, set for 31 May, for the submission of applications for TARI 2024 exemption or reduction by those entitled, the municipal administration has decided to reopen the terms of the relevant notice starting from 6pm today, Friday 7 June and until at 6pm on Monday 17 June. To explain the reasons for the reopening of the tender, the mayor Federico Basile and the tax councilor Roberto Cicala state: “In anticipation of the possible reduction in the percentage of payment of the Waste Tax for 2024, it has been ascertained that the applications received by 31 May for the request for exemption – TARI 2024 reduction, may not be sufficient for the amount allocated by the Administration to support families with ISEE up to €9,360 (Category A) and for those over seventy with 100% disability, the only members of the family unit always with ISEE up to €9,360 (Category B)”.

Councilor Cicala also communicates that in this second phase an ad hoc office will also be established in the Municipality in order to facilitate and give support both by telephone and in person to those who need help in submitting applications. Given the reopening of the deadlines, consequently the publication of the rankings of the beneficiaries will be postponed to June 20th in order to correctly include the new applicants. Finally, in numerical terms for the year 2024, Cicala estimated that “the beneficiary families will go from approximately 3,300 units in the years 2022 and 2023 to approximately 4,500 units, between total exemption and exemption in 1 or 2 installments”.
