After having requested availability from the archbishop Michele Seccia and having also obtained the approval from the person concerned, the Apulian Episcopal Conference gathered in an ordinary meeting last June 4th They conversehas indicated Don Luca Curlantestarting from the beginning of the next training year, as an educator at the regional seminary of Molfetta.

Thirty-three years old, originally from MelendugnoDon Luca was ordained a priest in his native town by Archbishop Michele Seccia, five years ago, on 11 May 2019. After obtaining a baccalaureate in theology at the end of the course of studies completed at the Apulian theological faculty in the Seminary of Molfetta, he graduated in sacramental theology at theSant’Anselmo Institute in Rome while also attending the School for trainers of the Gregorian University, also in the capital. During the Roman years, he provided his pastoral service as a student-priest in the Roman parish of Saint Clement Pope. Having returned to the diocese after specialization, the archbishop first appointed him vice-rector in the archbishop’s seminary and, subsequently, diocesan appointee of the established ministers.

A vocation, that of Don Luca, born and raised in his parish of origin, in particular in the oratory of Melendugno (LAWS) under the guidance of the then assistant parish priest Don Luca Nestola and the parish priests Don Albino De Pascali, Don Leonardo Giannone, Don Corrado Buttazzo Don Salvatore Scardino and corroborated by deep friendship with Don Salvatore Corvinoa priest who grew up in the same parish community and entered the seminary two years before him.

Molfetta’s appointment as educator confirms the quality of his priestly career and is a source of pride for the archbishop, his fellow priests and the entire diocesan community.

The big family of Portalecce wishes Don Luca good work and joins the prayer of the Church of Lecce so that his new service can be rich and fruitful in favor of the training of the Apulian priests of tomorrow.
