False testimony in the murder trial in which the defendant (now serving a life sentence) was her partner. GG, partner of Giuseppe Di Giacomo, known in the neighborhood where he lived as “the Sicilian”, sentenced to life imprisonment for stabbing to death on 19 December 2020 the hated neighbor Davide Calbucci.
A premeditated and brutal crime according to what was retraced in the Forlì Assizes, in which Di Giacomo hit Davide Calbucci with a barrage of stab wounds in the Fornace Marzocchi delle Vigne park and then, driven by his companion in the car, went to the Rocca di Forlì prison and turn himself in to the police who were already looking for him everywhere.
Yesterday in the courtroom of judge Federico Casalboni both the prosecution (prosecutor Alessandra Dati) and the civil party (the lawyer Alessandro Sintucci who protected Iwona Bednarz, the murdered man’s wife) had asked for a quantification of the sentence in the exact amount in which then it was granted by the judge. GG (defended by the lawyer Antonino Lanza, who had asked for her acquittal) was accused of having omitted the details of the story of an event that occurred almost a year before the murder, on Santo Stefano 2019, where during a condominium dispute Giuseppe Di Giacomo, in front of other witnesses on the stairs of the condominium, had threatened to “cut Calbucci’s throat”.
But above all the companion of the “Sicilian” was accused of having denied what the prosecution has always considered the motive for the crime and at least the premeditation of the same. The evening before the murder, a dialogue between the daughter of the woman met on the stairs of the house and Calbucci. Who “warned” her and her mother to “be careful” because they lived at home with a woman molester. Di Giacomo himself had reported this episode during the murder trial. Which GG instead cataloged as a “false memory”. Something that “they had talked about later, when Di Giacomo was already in prison”. For the judge, the 60-year-old’s false testimony, after having also listened to her in the hearing, was proven. In addition to the prison sentence, the civil party was awarded damages of 6 thousand euros.
