The Avm-Actv lines fail and the company apologizes

VENICE – Two hundred Avm-Actv employees, of which two thirds in shipping and the remainder in the automotive sector, busy at the polls in the European elections now upon us. Numbers more or less in line with past elections, which this time too predict strong disruptions in the local public transport, with consequent modification, suspension (as in the case of line 1, partly covered by line 2) and rescheduling of the trips for tomorrow, Sunday and Monday. What will happen in the automotive sector remains an unknown for the moment: the communications will be shared today by the Group on its official website, while in navigation the indications have already been made known in recent hours.

Boraso: «I will write to Mattarella»

A situation which risks throwing Venetian public transport into chaos and which has pushed the Mobility councillor, Renato Borasoto take action for the future, in light of a situation now known and in his opinion “shameful”.
«My repeated appeals for a sense of responsibility – declares Boraso – did not work. On Monday, at the end of the elections, I will write to President Mattarella and Prime Minister Meloni, to formally request that a change in the law be implemented, so that all people employed by essential public services (from transport to waste collection) cannot be appointed for fill the role of list representatives. Having noted that at present this is their right, I will act accordingly to make the sense of law prevail, given that the sense of shame apparently does not prevail.”
And he adds: «It is not possible that a section of people who have chosen to dedicate themselves to an essential public service for the city, among other things mostly belonging to a specific geographical area of the province, bring local water transport to its knees. They use this opportunity to take a few days of rest, when we know very well that these are elections that would not need list representatives in attendance. I apologize, even if I am not personally at fault, to the citizens who live in the historic center.” An apology also came in a note from the company, which is keen to underline that the situation is a consequence of current legislation.

Inconveniences and variations
