Mucci and Gnocchi, Forza Italia and OCG met on the future of the Gallarate hospital

“Some weeks ago we agreed to meet Forza Italia and its Commissioner Nicola Mucci.”
Massimo Gnocchi
reserve the end of the interview to bring out the real news, about the Gallarate hospital: a meeting between Forza Italia – part of the majority – and the civic list (minority) Objective Municipality Gallarate. A step that is anything but obvious, which according to Gnocchi shows that “the game is not over yet” on the single hospital.

It is news that comes out while we are talking about the news on the hospital’s process, with that announcement of the resources arriving from the Lombardy Region.

How does Gnocchi comment on the regional resolution on the implementation of health projects and in particular on the new Busto-Gallarate hospital?
«It’s not published yet so I’m still wondering it is not a confirmation that the money at risk (the 220 million from the state via art. 20 law 67/88) has been found because with the lack of 1.2 billion of PNR mission 6 funds, at the moment it does not appear that financial invariance is guaranteed as it is necessary to refinance the funds pursuant to art. 20 something of which there was no news. In any case, we are waiting to read it and in any case the game is open.”

OCG does not intend to stop the action and is actually convinced that there is a dose of tactics around Palazzo Lombardia and Pirellone. «This release seven days before the vote sounds like a political reassuring message to me. Which is legitimate, but I believe that as even authoritative candidates have said, such as Mantovani for Fdi, it is a mistake to close Gallarate in particular. And the transversal petition signaled this well after the massive demonstration a year ago right outside the San Antonio Abate.”

The great demonstration of 8 June 2023. Some representatives of Forza Italia were also present

«And then this nonsense of talking about a new and not unique hospital has gotten tired» Why don’t you like the definition? Wouldn’t that be new? «It would be, yes, but it would be decidedly unique and not only do the people not want this but not even the same cards that have so far remained covered regarding the fate of the dismantling hospital and for this reason the OCG motion aims straight to the target of the Program Agreement on the fate of the area. Which for us must have a significant public socio-health destination with the maintenance of essential and outpatient healthcare activities in the city that are currently totally non-existent in the single hospital project. In short, the Gallarate hospital must not close and the vote on the motion will serve to clarify who really cares about the future of the city and who doesn’t. I would like to point out that our initiative follows the petition is still awaiting a ruling from the regional health commission will still have also a debate at the regional level which will only be able to help achieve a result that many citizens have asked for from politics.”

«I understand that a similar debate will also be held in the RegionI can’t say anything else” Gnocchi defends himself. “What counts is the result that I hope there will be.”

What do you think of the appeal against the project? «I personally and others from OCG have made a small economic contributionor its elaboration because beyond the wrong political choice, the critical issues of the project itself remain, starting from its very difficult accessibility and not only as widely reported by the 45 provisions attached to decree 6665 on the Vas”.

In Gallarate, however, the majority is united on this position… «Just over a year ago the motion on the hospital identical to the one presented a year earlier came also voted by a majority force».

And it is here that a breach opens that might have seemed secondary, but which after a year – says Gnocchi – has produced an unexpected dialogue: «According to OCG logic, it believes that the future of our San Antonio Abate Hospital is anything but decided . A few weeks ago we agreed to meet Forza Italia and its Commissioner Nicola Mucci also on this issuefor which we grant them “an opening of credit”, because they have shown, in words, but we hope to see it soon also concretely, of do not be indifferent to the great popular response of the petition of over 13 thousand signatures to save the essential and outpatient services of Gallara”.

Of course, a meeting between a minority force and a majority force, on a specific and much debated topic, is anything but a secondary step.

Gnocchi is not afraid to open up to dialogue and reiterates this: «The Gallarate hospital is the main priority for our city and we at OCG we will travel every road to save as much as possible the active services for all the people of Gallara and for many citizens of the neighboring municipalities”.
