Naples, the bar of boss Troncone’s brother is on fire

Vitale Troncone, boss of Fuorigrotta

Another fire at a Troncone family bar in the Fuorigrotta district. The external awning of the ‘Caffetteria Troncone’ in via Michelangelo da Caravaggio was burned. It is the second raid in a few days after the fire at the former bar of boss Vitale Troncone (now detained) in via Caio Duilio. The scenarios. The bar in via Caravaggio belongs to the brother of Vitale Troncone, which however is completely unrelated to criminal dynamics. A worker, the investigators explain: they suspect a transversal action, to hit and intimidate Vitale Troncone.

The police investigations continue along this line after the double raid. Meanwhile, tension is running high in Fuorigrotta and now anything can happen. Not only. The Volante officers managed to stop the alleged perpetrator: the 31-year-old from the Ivory Coast was wandering not far from the cafeteria. It took them a minute: they viewed the images from the cameras. Then he was arrested by agents of the General Prevention and Public Relief Office.

In the middle of the night, the policemen from the General Prevention and Public Rescue Office, following a note received by the local operations room, intervened in via Michelangelo da Caravaggio to report a fire. The police, who arrived on site, found firefighters who were putting out the fire in the gazebo outside the Caffetteria Troncone. From the investigations, also through the viewing of the images of the video surveillance system of the commercial establishment, the police ascertained that the 31-year-old, shortly before, had approached the structure and set it on fire after having sprinkled it with flammable liquid; immediately afterwards he hurriedly left.

At that point the police started looking for the man who, not far away, in via Cassiodoro, was tracked down and stopped. The 31-year-old from the Ivory Coast was arrested for arson. The investigations are still ongoing, the police headquarters say. Meanwhile, investigations continue into the raid on the Caffetteria Troncone in via Michelangelo Da Caravaggio and also into the fire at the former Troncone bar in via Caio Duilio. The investigators do not rule out connections: everything happened in a few days.

In via Caio Duilio the bar shutter was burned. Damage only to the external part. In that case the carabinieri of the Fuorigrotta station and those of the mobile radio intervened. The bar had changed management a few months ago and had recently reopened. It had been seized by the police at the beginning of January: included by the Prosecutor’s Office among the assets, 800 thousand euros in total, considered attributable to Vitale Troncone. Now the commercial activity had reopened under new management, completely unrelated to criminal contexts.
