Castellammare, two candidates from a center-left list withdraw: “This is not politics”

Rags are flying within a list of the center-left coalition. With a message sent in the WhatsApp groups, two candidates from one of the lists supporting the mayoral candidate Luigi Vicinanza announce their withdrawal from the electoral race, explaining that it would be a mistake to vote for the list itself.

“With enormous regret – we read in the message – I ask all of you who believe in us to direct your vote to another list. Unfortunately, we realized that the individuals involved in the list do not represent us.” And then again: “This policy does not belong to us. We are as disappointed as you are, but we cannot allow ourselves to be an active part of this destructive policy.”

With this message, the two candidates break the deadlock and, a few hours before the vote, shuffle the cards.

The list, the political expression of a former left-wing municipal councilor, is a political entity born from a sort of associationism. One of the latest initiatives he tried to offer to the people of Stabia was just a few months ago. The association, posing as a recognized Pro Loco, had attempted a coup by organizing a Castellammare biscuit festival.

Naturally, the demonstration fell on deaf ears and disappeared after the prefectural commissioners requested documents and documents in support of the legality of the association which, on time, did not arrive.

Therefore, for this political aggregation, in addition to the events, the candidates are also skipped.
