2024 elections in Avellino – ROCCHETTA GERARDO takes to the field with ‘SiAmo Avellino’ in support of the mayoral candidate Laura Nargi – GERARDO ROCCHETTA, 25 years old, social-health worker and member of the commission of the youth forum of the Campania region, as well as collaborating as an OPERATOR PROJECT LOCAL (OLP) for the young volunteers of the Universal Civil Service of the municipality of Avellino, has chosen to be part of the civic coalition in support of Laura Nargi. Rocchetta presents himself as a young man who fights for the future of the city made for YOUNG PEOPLE!
“I ran because, as Don Primo Mazzolari said, what’s the point of having clean hands if you keep them in your pockets? To tell the truth, I have never kept my hands in my pockets and together with many friends and travel companions I I have used them to build actions and paths that give rise to hope, to improve, with young people, adults, associations and institutions, the community in which we live. I have done this with my work, dealing with social and health care for adolescents suffering from autism spectrum disorders and elderly people suffering from neurodegenerative diseases and I demonstrated it with young people because I showed them that I was a boy they could trust. My commitment has grown over the years and with it a new awareness: all this alone it is not enough. We run the risk of making our efforts futile. A good policy is also needed to finally move from treating the effects to eliminating the causes the new one. In this sense I see the need for this city to continue with a policy that has demonstrated in recent years to be capable, credible, open to society and which wants to continue to serve. My candidacy means this: continuing to practice the grammar of change and to serve the people on another playing field! I try to do all this with the candidate for Mayor Laura Nargi because I have always thought that it is an opportunity for our city, an opportunity to build. This is a great opportunity that allows us, as ordinary citizens, to aspire to govern our local community and take action. I believe it is the responsibility of all those who feel it to contribute to restoring credibility to politics through commitment to the institutions and it is only with our Candidate for Mayor that I found this possibility. It’s not my habit to promise: I can only say to look at my path, my way of being. However, I can guarantee my commitment to bringing into the institutions the values, projects, challenges and methods of the world from which I come and for which I have fought until today. I undertake to promise nothing other than honesty, competence and participation. And to be what I have always been! I hold the topic of YOUTH POLICIES very close to my heart, but credibility lies when a YOUTH is talking about the issue and the term is not used only as RHETORIC! Young people are the true resource of our city, the excellence of our community and they must be RESPECTED! I want all the girls and boys from Avellino like me to be able to once again feel proud of those who defend them!”.
On the choice to side with Laura Nargi, Rocchetta offers a clear and motivated vision. Rocchetta offers a passionate point of view. “Let’s start by saying that, at least as far as I’m concerned, the decision to commit myself alongside Laura Nargi is also due to the desire to fully embrace the programmatic points she proposed. It’s obvious that among these there are some that I feel are closer to to me, therefore, I can say that point five of the program, concerning THE FUTURE, is the one that best reflects my ideas and ambitions for the future of the city’s young people our coalition also intends to carry forward for the young people of our city, providing them again with a place where the ideas of many become opportunities for all and this through the dialogue and discussion that can take place within the YOUTH FORUM which in the first 100 days our city must absolutely reclaim itself, with the hope of being able to live as soon as possible the best future that we deserve as young citizens of Avellino. Responding to the attacks of our adversaries and competitors I would like to say only one thing: IF I HAD HAD A VALID PROGRAM TO BE PRESENTED, EVIDENTLY THEY WOULDN’T HAVE TIME TO COMMENT ON THAT OF OUR CANDIDATE FOR MAYOR LAURA NARGI!”
