SAN BENEDETTO DEL TRONTO – They supplied their customers with heroin on the Marche and Abruzzo coasts. Never two Tunisian pushers were identified and arrested by state police from the San Benedetto police station of the Tronto. At the end of a complex investigation, the agents managed to identify the drug dealing den where the two Tunisians – aged 28 and 23 respectively, both illegal on Italian territory – had set up their illicit activity. The operation began on the afternoon of May 22nd, and culminated with thearrest for possession for the purpose of dealing drugs. During the same operation, doses of heroin and cash proceeds from the doses were found in the house in the Tortoreto countryside where the 2 North Africans were resting.

The days before the arrest, personnel of the Judicial Police Team, as part of the ordinary info-investigative activity, had acquired reliable information on a country house located in the countryside of Tortoreto where two Tunisians had set up a profitable drug dealing activity, supplying heroin to drug addicts on the Marche and Abruzzo coasts. On the basis of this information, on the morning of May 22, the officers stationed themselves near the farmhouse, at a suitable distance that allowed them to observe the movements of the two men. In fact, already in the early hours of the morning in that farmhouse far from the city, immersed in the countryside and in an inaccessible and difficult to reach area, there was a suspicious coming and going of people. The officers then decided to intervene, blocking one of the buyers together with a young North African who had given him a dose of heroin shortly before. The customer was identified as a forty-year-old Italian national and, subjected to a personal search, was found in possession of two doses of heroin just received from the foreigner.

Immediately afterwards, a house search was carried out in the farmhouse, carried out with the help of a dog unit from the Dog Department of the Pescara State Police. The surrounding countryside was also inspected and in addition to finding the presence within the second Maghreb area, 10 gross grams of heroin were found divided into doses already cut and packaged for sale, an electronic scale, cellophane bags used for packaging and cutting substance, and the cash sum of almost 7,000 euros, probable proceeds from the drug dealing activity. The material and the drugs were kidnappedwhile the sum of cash was subjected to emergency preventive seizure aimed at confiscation as it was the proceeds of crime, also due to the lack of employment of the two non-EU citizens.

The two foreigners arrested, on the orders of the Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Court of Teramo, are restricted to house arrest pending the hearing to validate the arrest. Currently, for both of them, the precautionary measure of the obligation to report to the judicial police twice a day until the direct trial to be held in the next few days has been ordered.
