CSM: Maria Vittoria Marchianò president of the VII commission

Maria Vittoria Marchianò is the new president of the Seventh Commission of the Superior Council of the Judiciary which deals with the organization of Italian judicial offices, such as the approval of tables, applications, substitutions and finally the verification of the management and organization conditions of the offices and any malfunctions. In the past, before moving to the CSM, Maria Vittoria Marchianò held the role of investigating judge at the Court of Catanzaro, president of the Criminal Section of the Court of Appeal of Catanzaro and president of the Court of Crotone.

Biography

Born in Cosenza on 23 September 1962. Appointed judicial auditor by ministerial decree of 7-6-1989 and assigned to the Court of Catanzaro, criminal sector, her first functions were those of trial judge, member of the panel responsible for reviewing the precautionary measures and the discussion of prevention measures and a side judge of the Court of Assizes.

From 1 December 1995 to 25 May 2005 he acted as District Judge for preliminary investigations and Judge for the preliminary hearing at the Court of Catanzaro and in this role he handled many proceedings for organized crime crimes, always numerous in the district, given the high IOC index of all the courts included. In this period you were elected member of the Judicial Council at the Court of Appeal of Catanzaro.

Transferred, upon request, to the Court of Appeal of Catanzaro with resolution of the CSM dated 16-2-2005, she was assigned to the second criminal section, where, having noted the vast territorial jurisdiction of the Office, which included eight Courts in its district , numerous trials were handled, including many complex maxi-trials for crimes relating to organized crime against numerous defendants subjected to precautionary measures.

With resolution dated 26 May 2010, she was appointed by the CSM as President of the section of the Court of Appeal of Catanzaro, criminal sector, after conferring the semi-managerial functions of second degree judge. Even in these functions, exercised at the same time as the second “mandate” in the Judicial Council, you had the opportunity to preside over the body responsible for dealing with delicate maxi-trials of organized crime against individuals belonging to the criminal cliques of the district.

After her experience in second degree semi-managerial functions, in which she was confirmed at the end of the first four-year period, she was appointed President of the Court of Crotone, where, on 28 October 2016, she assumed first degree managerial functions . Even in his management roles at the Crotone Office, whose district is characterized by one of the highest incidence rates of organized crime, he dedicated a considerable part of his commitment to proceedings of this nature, personally assuming the presidency of the college responsible for discussion of prevention measures, both personal and patrimonial, coming from the DDA of Catanzaro, as well as carrying out civil functions, including management of the section, and functions of administrative manager, given the vacancy of the position.
