Students who stood out for their commitment and skills were rewarded

The “Day of Excellence” at the end of a year full of commitments and satisfactions for all the kids.

The day fits inside the “Excellence in competition” project”, whose leaders are prof. Elvira Torchi and prof. Giovanni Padua, which the Institute has been carrying out for three years in order to enhance students who stand out for their commitment and results or who have obtained literary, artistic, musical, sporting and linguistic prizes. These pupils are also a resource for the classes and the spirit of the project, which involves all the teachers of the secondary and of the fourth and fifth classes of the primary, is precisely this: to give recognition to the pupils not only for their personal merits but also for their contribution that their skills bring to the whole class.

Also worth highlighting are the certificates of merit given to students with a special motivation: that of not having given up despite the difficulties and of having completed their school commitments with courage and maturity or for the tenacity shown which allowed them to achieve personal goals.

In short, the Carlo Amore Institute stands out for being the only institute in the city to have created an award that recognizes each student as having “a special talent” by teaching them with commitment and consistency and the results are always achieved. And this teaching will be fundamental in their life journey.

Godmother of the day Mariaconcetta Guastella who was invited by the Director Giulia D’Urso to bring her testimony to convey an important message to the children: “We need to ask for help because sometimes the help of others is necessary and important!” And this is what Cocca, as Guastella is known to all, carries forward in her battle forced to fight to be “reborn” as she says from the condition in which lipedema forces her to live, an evolutionary disease that compromises the use of the lower limbs. “Asking for help is never a sign of weakness but of extreme courage you have to fight for what you believe in. You don’t choose to be sick, I find it shameful how a sick person in this case of lipedema has to take care of everything. But where is healthcare? Not to mention how much effort all this costs on a psychological level, feeling alone, the fear of not making it, the pain, the anger, but at the same time the desire to be heard by society, by healthcare, by the whole world. Because you don’t choose to be sick, you don’t choose to feel sick. Support me, I need each of you! ”.

These are the words of Mariaconcetta Guastella addressed to the students who listened to her testimony with great interest. The manager, the teachers and the families wanted to support her battle with a fundraiser whose proceeds were delivered to her during the day.
