There is anticipation for the new face of Piazza Cardinal Pacca in Benevento. The project created thanks to the Pics for the tourist front office was among the most contested and probably troubled of those carried out in the city. There was no shortage of surprises revealed by the excavations conducted before the installation.
And there is no shortage of them in this final part either. Piazza Pacca has completely changed its face after the demolition of the wall on the edge of the square which significantly expanded the area connected to the alleys of the Triggio district.
New light on the area with a completely new look at the pre-existing Roman wall, probably belonging to the complex of the ancient baths. The area is also home to the remains of the ancient monastery of San Pietro delle Monache, a female Benedictine foundation in Benevento which is attested with certainty starting from the 11th century and was definitively suppressed in 1865. Its structures were then destroyed by the bombings of 1943.
And it goes without saying that the area, which will be officially inaugurated on Friday evening, has already become a new destination for enthusiasts.
