Is called Circularity Market the appointment scheduled for Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th June in the spaces of via Palermo where the Chiesi Group, with the precious collaboration of Csv Emilia, will offer a new life to the objects currently located in the pharmaceutical company’s headquarters.

Although in excellent condition, these objects would be destined for waste: due to space limitations, in fact, only 5% can be reused in other company offices. To overcome this problem and avoid waste, the Chiesi Group thus had the idea of launching the Circularity project which will allow 75% of furnishings to be brought back to life.

On both Saturday and Sunday, the area will be freely accessible to the citizens of Parma (entry permitted from via Chiesi, 1), from 9.30 to 12.30 and from 14.30 to 17.30. Over 300 pieces of furniture will be on display, including chairs, desks, wardrobes, chests of drawers and other objects (for example, lamps, coat hangers, umbrella stands), a number greater than 10% of the total furniture currently present in via Palermo. Each person will be able to choose up to a maximum of two objects, which they will receive, completely free of charge, from Csv Emilia.

Since some furnishings are large in size, access to private cars and vans will be allowed during the time slots 12.30-14.30 and 17.30-18.30 for the collection of previously assigned furnishings.

For the little ones, entertainment activities are planned, organized by the associations Scambiamente and To start again. Furthermore, for those who wish, there will be the possibility of visiting the Past, Present, Future exhibition.

Most of the approximately 1,200 objects of office furniture and movable objects stored in the Chiesi spaces in via Palermo are made available free of charge to third sector associations and bodies, identified thanks to the fundamental contribution of Csv Emilia, and the world of schools. To date, more than half of the furnishings intended for donation have already been booked by third sector organizations or educational institutions.

To respond to a need expressed by the collaborators of Chiesi Italia and Chiesi Farmaceutici, who in the past have worked in the spaces in via Palermo, the Group has decided to reserve approximately 450 pieces of furniture for sale (approximately 20% of those present on the site) . The activity, which will start at the beginning of the summer and will continue for six months, will be managed through a marketplace app created specifically for the exclusive use of the corporate population based in Italy. The sale will be at favorable prices.

Starting from the end of summer, the space in via Palermo will be affected by a profound urban regeneration intervention, with a construction site active until 2027. The historic industrial site of Chiesi in via Palermo, inaugurated on 8 October 1955, today hosts over 2,300 items , mostly furnishings (such as, for example, wardrobes, desks, chairs, chests of drawers).

Andrea ChiesiHead of Special Projects of the Chiesi Group: “Circularity is a complex project that is fueled by two concepts: the first is that of circular economy, because we are talking about a microsystem that wants to leverage the sharing, recovery and reuse of objects. The other key word is community, because, through concrete actions, we want to have an impact on the territory in which we operate, with particular attention to the San Leonardo district, which has hosted us since 1955 and where the Chiesi Group still has its heart, between the production plant, research center and headquarters. Circularity responds to the logic of creating shared value, which is integrated into the strategic and business vision of the Chiesi Group: it produces a benefit for the city of Parma and for the environment a project that contributes to further strengthening our connection with the local community and which is characterized as a sign of openness, coherently with the development trajectory that we want to give to the Palermo street of the future, where private work spaces and public social spaces will coexist ”.

As Arnaldo Confortidirector of CSV Emilia: “Circularity is yet another demonstration of how Chiesi continues to be a development agent for the territory, capable of keeping its local roots alive and solid despite having become a company with an international scope”.
