Shirts removed from Picerno, the sports judge fines the Crotone players and inhibits the club delegate

Five hundred euro fine to the ‘protagonist’ players and the prohibition on the delegate for relations with the Crotone fans (Slo, acronym for Supporter Liaison Officer) from holding positions and roles until next July 1st. The effects of Picerno’s unfortunate night, that of the elimination from the playoffs and above all of the surreal final with the players forced by their fans to take off their shirts, leaving them on the ground on the lawn of the Basilicata stadium, produce a financial sanction for the players who ‘complied’ with the wishes of the supporters, but also with the club’s representative, Antonio Zizza, who ‘allowed’ a confrontation which, based on his function, should have been avoided. “At the end of the match in question – read the statement from the Sports Judge -, the supporters of the Crotone club demanded that the players of their team take off the shirts they were wearing as they were not worthy of wearing them. On this occasion, the Club Manager, Antonio Zizza, first allowed the players to get close to the fans and then, in compliance with their requests, invited them to leave the shirts they were wearing on the ground. The players, as identified following the requested supplementary investigations, have, for their part, fulfilled the request made to them, also urged by the Slo of their club. In the opinion of the judge, the behavior of both Slo and the players violates the provision of article 25, paragraph 9, as they had conversations for a significant period of time with the supporters while the same insulted them and railed in the towards them and complied with the intimidating and denigrating request to take off the shirts they were wearing. In evaluating the behavior of the members respectively, this judge believes that the conduct of the Slo is characterized by a different severity compared to that of the players”.
For the reasons set out, the sports judge Palazzi believes it is necessary to impose a fine of 500 euros on the players who have left their shirts in the playing area and to be paid by the delegate for relations with the club’s fans, the sanction of the inhibition from carrying out any activity in within the FIGC and to represent the club at the federal level until 1 July 2024.

Specifically, the players ‘protagonists’ of abandoning the shirt are Francesco D’Alterio, Gulliaume Gigliotti, Guido Gomez, Vinicius, Giuseppe Loiacono, Alessio Tribuzzi, Marco Tumminello, Andrea Dini, Lucas Felippe, Gianmario Comi, Niccolo’ Zanellato, Dimitar Kostadinov, Andrea D’Errico, Raffaele Cantisani, Andrea Rispoli.
