Administrative elections: The directives for the designation of list representatives are online

A notice with the directives for the designation of list representatives at the electoral stations and a related model. The notice is available in the specific web section dedicated to local elections. Designations must be submitted by 2.00 pm on Friday 7 June to the secretary of the Municipality who will take care of its transmission to the presidents of the electoral sections.

Following several requests for clarification regarding the designation of list representatives, the municipal general secretary Daniela Amato in fact, he issued the notice in order to clarify some doubts.

The designations must be presented with a specific written declaration on plain paper (a model is available on the municipal website) and the signature of the delegates must be authenticated by authorized persons. The designations can be made in a single act for two representatives, one effective and the other alternate; this is in order to ensure continuity in the exercise of the function entrusted to them. They must be drawn up in as many separate documents as there are offices to which the delegates decide to designate the representatives.

The list delegates designate the list representatives for each section and for the central office and the signature of the delegates must be authenticated.

The designations of the list representatives, That take place in the interest of the list represented and of the candidate for mayor connected to it, they are not mandatory.
Representatives are not an integral part of electoral offices but they must limit themselves to ensuring the protection of the interests of their respective lists against irregularities in electoral operations.
The designations of the list representatives at the electoral sections are delivered by the municipal secretary to the respective presidents of the various section electoral offices.
The designation is admissible only if made by one of the delegates indicated in the declaration of presentation of the list of candidates; the designated list representativein addition to having an identification document, it must be voter of the municipality; the list representative must know how to “read and write”;

The secretary will issue to the person who presents the deed of designation a receipt certifying the presentation within the deadlinesthe.
In the case of multiple elections occurring at the same timethe same people can be designated as delegates and it is obvious that in this case the delegates will be able to designate the same representatives for all types of consultations that take place with a single act.

It is suggested to indicate the designation of the list representatives for the direct election of the mayor and the city council also for the run-off round.

List representatives have the right to attend all electoral operations sitting near the polling table; they can have any declarations inserted synthetically in the minutes; they can add their signature on the closing strips of the ballot box containing the voted ballots, in the minutes of the polling station e on the packages containing the voting and counting documents, on the adhesive strips affixed to the windows and the entrance door to the voting room.

List representatives are authorized to wear an armband or another badge with the list symbol representing.

Finally, the representatives – like the members of the polling stations – are required to treat with the utmost confidentiality, in compliance with the constitutional principle of freedom and secrecy of the vote, the personal data known in carrying out electoral operations. In particular, they cannot use data relating to the voter’s participation or otherwise in the vote, which could reveal a possible political orientation of the voter. The polling station presidents must allow the list representatives to fulfill their duties fully and with the greatest freedom, compatibly with the need to ensure the smooth running of electoral operations.
