PERUGIA – They say he immediately went to the post office to pay the super fine. Evidently to avoid the risk of being discovered by family members. Better to pay immediately and make everything disappear, because you would be found to have paid a 450 euro fine after being caught letting a prostitute get into your car. It happened over the weekend just ended. It was time for the new ordinance issued by Mayor Romizi to come into force, which focuses precisely on tackling the phenomenon of street assaults on prostitutes, when municipal police officers immediately surprised two motorists.

One, the one who paid as soon as the post office closest to home opened, was caught at night along Via Settevalli. The second directly in the sunlight, along via Mario Angeloni.

THE DOCUMENT

This is a practice, that is, of prostitutes, especially of the Roma ethnic group, who approach clients during the day, which the residents of Fontivegge know well. And it is no coincidence that they included among the first of the “twelve fixed points” developed for the relaunch of the neighborhood that the Fontivegge Project committee handed over to the mayoral and municipal councilor candidates with whom there have been meetings in recent weeks, precisely the “annual fixed activation in the six-month period between May and October of the anti-alcohol ordinance and the anti-prostitution ordinance”. A document that the station residents’ committee made known yesterday afternoon, through its Facebook page.

The first point is the “intensification of the presence of the police forces, including the reinstatement of the Safe Roads operation, hoping for greater decision-making and operational coordination between the various police forces” and then to follow many issues on which in these years the Fontivegge Project has strongly insisted on «close and cross-checks, conducted jointly between local police and Gesenu ecological guards, on Tari lease and utility contracts», «permanent closure of commercial establishments which become vehicles of annoying noises, public disorder, drug dealing or health and hygiene risks” and again “installation of camouflage video surveillance devices (photo traps) near the green glass bells present in the neighborhood, construction sites and the main abandoned areas, often used for dumping waste squatter”.

Furthermore, «full and punctual application of the urban Daspo measure and the related fines for cases of violation of the urban police regulation», the adjustment «of the cadastral estimates on the basis of the current real estate values in the neighborhood, which have deteriorated heavily over the last thirty years” and the activation “of expropriation practices – for reasons of public interest and/or for possible failure to comply with obligations – of unused privately owned land and buildings, kept in a state of abandonment for at least five years”. Among the points also the request to exclude Fontivegge «from any new reception and relocation program for migrants, asylum seekers and refugees in order to avoid new settlements in a neighborhood already heavily affected by the abnormal presence of foreign communities closed within them and reluctant to integrate in the local fabric” and the “precise and detailed mapping of all the video surveillance devices present in the Fontivegge district to register those active and inactive, and replace the old ones with new cutting-edge equipment”.
