Carlo Conti working on the new Sanremo Festival. The host, after his appointment as artistic director of the music event, commented on the ‘new rules’.
The choice to go to Florence
“Now I’m working on the regulation, then there’s listening carefully first to the new proposals and then to the big names. Then we will choose the people who will support me. The songs are the key thing“, he has declared Carlo Conti during the presentation conference of Tim Summer Hits. And, on the possibility as artistic director of directly inviting some artists, he replies: “Always the songs first, there is always the listening first and then the invitations“. Journalists ask how he will manage his many work commitments: “I’m actually doing a lot less. I took away all my daily commitments and chose to leave this wonderful city to stay in my Florence with my family. I think I work less than in past years even though I have many commitments“.
Television commitments
But Carlo Conti is worried about the work to be done to Sanremo? “Certainly less than the previous editions that I directed. Then I also had ‘The legacy’, a daily commitment that added to the work of the Festival. This year I don’t have such a commitment and therefore I will struggle less“. And then he added: “I don’t know if we will see some of the singers or the presenter of Tim Summer Hits in Sanremo, it’s too early to say. There are specific steps in the organization of the Festival. Lastly we will choose the people who are leading together“.
