Friday 7 June and the following week, Friday 14 June, at 5.30 pm in the “M. Fiorentini” of the “G. Puccini”, in Via XX Settembre 34, the two conference-concerts dedicated to the fifth concert cycle on the organ works of JS Bach will take place, included in the institute project for this academic year.
At the keyboards of the “Ghilardi” organ, maestro Roberto Menichetti, professor of Organ at the conservatory, maestro Luigi Fontana, professor of Organ Practice, together with the newly graduated maestro Tommaso Nicoli and the students Davide Lucchi, Domenico Marchini, Leonardo Moretti and Lorenzo Portunato.
The idea of performing the complete works of JS Bach was born from the desire to bring into play the characteristics of the instrument present in the conservatory, the organ built by Glauco Ghilardi in 2001, in German Baroque style, making it accessible to an external public, to outside of curricular lessons.
Furthermore, the characteristic of these concerts lies in the close artistic collaboration between teacher and students, one of the main purposes of the conservatory’s teaching, where the experiences of those who teach, but also those of those who are embarking on their professional studies, come together to create a beautiful moment of “music together”, dedicated to the greatest of organ composers, a vital educational and musical experience for every organist.
This also highlights the different points of approach to Bach’s music, which, starting from the simplest pieces, puts the young student in front of a type of musical writing that is indispensable and fundamental for their growth.
The concerts will be introduced by comments on the pieces that will be performed.
All fans of organ music and Bach are invited to attend.
