ANCONA – The control room between the Marche Region and trade associations was established yesterday, in implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding, signed last July, on workers’ well-being.

Important initiatives dedicated to the topic were illustrated, proposed by the companies benefiting from the PR FESR MARCHE 21-27 tender to support research and development in the Marche region, promoted by the Department of Economic Development.

Of the 228 companies that will benefit from contributions for the implementation of research and development projects being launched from next month, 25% will activate initiatives aimed at improving the well-being of workers, also following the incentive provided for in the tender (increase of 2% of the contribution granted).

The initiatives mainly consist of services aimed at supporting the employee’s income (canteen, meal vouchers, fuel vouchers, reimbursements for sustainable mobility, agreements with commercial establishments for various types of services, healthcare, specialist visits, diagnostic investigations) and targeted activities to facilitate the flexibility of working hours (smart working, teleworking, hour bank).

Initiatives that are distributed equally among companies regardless of their size, demonstrating the widespread sensitivity on this important issue and, more generally, on the involvement of staff in work environments.

The interventions will be activated by the companies through agreements with trade unions or bilateral bodies, or through their own initiatives, taken with company regulations or resolution of the Board of Directors or other equivalent document, which will be submitted to the advisory opinion of the Control Room.

Promoting a shared and broader vision of “corporate well-being” represents a noble and, at the same time, strategic objective, as it promotes better competitiveness, which does not only depend on production capacity but also on the quality of life and the valorization of the rights of both worker and of the company.

The competitiveness of a territory, in fact, is also measured in terms of its attractiveness. More hospitable working environments have the function of attracting young talents and new skills to the area.

From this perspective, the results of the tender show that companies also demonstrate a certain inclination towards the professional qualification of their staff: as many as 61% plan to hire graduates, qualified technicians, apprentices in advanced research training, important figures to guarantee an effective transfer of knowledge and innovative technologies in production processes

The Control Room therefore represents an important tool for implementing the Protocol which will allow the Marche Region to continue the fruitful discussion undertaken with the social-economic parties present in the area.
