TURIN. A season, the 2024-2025 one, which celebrates the 70th anniversary of the Foundation of the Teatro Stabile di Torino and the 50th anniversary of the Centro Studi with – not surprisingly – 70 titles proposed, including 24 productions and co-productions with 12 national premieres, 46 hospitality and 15 shows for Torinodanza Festival. The programme, under the aegis of the title “Atto Unico”, points to the future while looking at the past, proposing heterogeneous titles in the name of contamination and comparison between different artistic identities, focusing on classical but also contemporary authors.

The inauguration will be «Things I Know to Be True» by Andrew Bovell directed by Valerio Binasco, artistic director of the Tst, which will be welcomed at the Carignano Theater from 7 to 27 October with protagonists – over that Binasco himself – also Giuliana De Sio and a large group of actors. Then on the program is Pirandello with «Six characters in search of an author», again directed by Binasco (at the Carignano from 11 to 23 February).

To Leonardo Lidi, newly appointed director of the School for Actors and Resident Director, he will present «Cat on a Hot Tin Roof» by Tennessee Williams, «The Cherry Orchard» by Chekhov and «As in the best days» by the young author Diego Pleuteri. Among the other productions there will be the one signed by Kriszta Székely «The Builder Solness» by Ibsen starring Binasco (Carignano 20 May – 8 June). Instead, Marta Cortellazzo Wiel will bring to the stage a text by Suzie Miller on the topic of violence against women entitled «Prima facie» (Gobetti 7-19 January).

Among the hospitality there will be the return of Toni Servillo engaged with «Three ways to not die: Baudelaire, Dante, the Greeks» (Carignano 5-10 November), Giuseppe Battiston directed by Paola Rota with «La suitcase» by Sergej Dovlatov (Gobetti 26 November-1 December), Natalino Balasso and Michele Di Mauro with «The great magic» by De Filippo (Carignano 17-22 December), Alessandro Haber in «The consciousness of Zeno» (Carignano 7-19 January), Umberto Orsini and Franco Branciaroli in «The irresistible boys» (Carignano 4-9 February), Lino Guanciale and Francesco Montanari with «The cruelest man in the world» (Fonderie Limone 11-16 February), Gabriele Lavia will direct «Long journey towards the night» (Carignano 25 February – 9 March), Lodo Guerzi (leader of the band Lo Stato Sociale) will be among the performers of «Toccando il emptiness» (Gobetti 11-16 March), Stefano Massini will arrive with «Mein Kampf» (Carignano 24-30 March), Gianluca Ferrato directed by Roberto Piana will interpret «The massage ceremony» by Alan Bennett (Gobetti 13 – 18 May) and much more.

Dance will be increasingly present, going beyond the borders of TorinoDanza Festival directed by Anna Cremonini with a journey entitled «TorinoDanza Extra» with the national premiere of «Taverna Miresia» (28 November). «Coup fatal» by Alain Platel (13 March), «Suspended Chorus» by Silvia Gribaudi (17 May), «Works and Days» by the Belgian company FC Bergman (Fonderie Limone 3-4 June).
