Tuesday is a day of mobilization for the collective catering workers of the companies belonging to Anir and Angem, on the occasion of the national strike proclaimed by Filcams Cgil, Fisascat Cisl and Uiltucs. The protest is based on a warning from employers’ associations to take action to renew the national contract, which has expired three years ago. National contract which affects one million workers in Italy and over 10 thousand in Umbria. The strike in Umbria led – the unions reported – to major disruptions such as the closure of the Ast canteen.
«In an economic context still strongly compromised by the inflationary surge of recent years and the consequent increase in the cost of living – this is the thrust of the unions – some companies are proving irresponsible and inconsiderate towards their employees». In support of the strike, the unions organized a demonstration in Terni, in front of the headquarters of Authentica Spa, one of the leading companies in the sector. «The behavior of the companies belonging to Anir and Angem – conclude the unions – cannot be tolerated. It is yet another humiliation that they want to inflict on workers.”
