Lamezia Terme – On Monday 3 June at the IC Perri Pitagora in Lamezia Terme, directed by Giuseppe De Vita, some children from the first class of primary school participated in an art workshop organized together with the artist DiegoKoi, parent of a student at the school.
Diego Fazio, known as DiegoKoi, is an Italian artist born in 1989 in Lamezia Terme. Specializing in hyperrealistic drawing, he creates extremely detailed pencil works. His extraordinary skill and attention to detail have allowed him to acquire international fame and numerous awards. He creates works in which there is the unraveling of multiple chiaroscuro effects, making the differences between a photo and a painting almost imperceptible. In representing faces or parts of them, he intends to convey a message or create a dialogue between the attentive observer and the unconscious of the portrayed figure. His works are present in the private collections of personalities such as A. Schwarzenegger and JJ Abrams and in the public collections of international museums. The children, following the artist’s instructions, drew an eye and expressed their amazement at grasping all the details. The experience aroused a lot of interest in the students who hope to be able to repeat it in the future. “Today at school we learned to draw an eye that almost looks real and we had a lot of fun – said the children – At first it seemed difficult, but this very good artist, DiegoKoi, explained everything to us very well. We are happy to have learned something new and would like to draw with him again.”
