The meteor event that occurred in Romagna between 16 and 18 May 2023 released such a volume of precipitation as to generate a devastating effect on the area. How much of that situation could have been prevented, and above all: what actions should be applied to secure the territory for future events? These are some of the points that will be covered at the event “Forlì and Romagna at the center of climate change. Defending the city from future flood events” organized by the RinnoviAmo Forlì list, scheduled for Wednesday 5 June at 6.00 pm at the Asyoli club, in Corso Garibaldi 280.
The meeting will be opened by Michele Fiumi (spokesperson for the RinnoviAmo Forlì civic list) and Enzo Lattuca (President of the Province of Forlì Cesena).
We will talk about “Hydraulic Safety of the Territory” with Prof. Stefano Orlandini (Professor of Hydraulic Constructions University of Modena and Reggio Emilia) and “Prevention and mitigation: the integrated approach” with Andrea Nardini (hydraulic engineer, PhD Analysis of Systems, PhD in fluvial geomorphology, international consultant, co-founder of the Italian Center for River Redevelopment – CIRF – and its first technical director, university professor).
This will be followed by questions from the public and answers from the experts, moderated by Francesco Marino (Engineer, popularizer, coordinator and candidate councilor of RinnoviAmo Forlì).
The event will finally end with the speech of the mayoral candidate Graziano Rinaldini and with an aperitif offered by RinnoviAmo Forlì. The invitation is extended to RinnoviAmo supporters, the press and anyone who may be interested in the topic.
