Pescara football starts again with the new coach, the first important step towards next season. Director Daniele Delli Carri is already working on the choice of coach, the possible candidates for the Delfino bench have already been identified. At the top of the list of preferences drawn up by the management is the name of Attilio Tesser.
According to the latest rumours, there has already been initial contact between the parties, no decisions have been made but optimism is filtering through. Tesser is still under contract for a year with Triestina, but they intend to release the coach, who was sacked last February when the team was third in the standings. In this way he would be relieved of a salary that weighs heavily on the budget of the Julian club.
Tesser is a well-known name, one of the most coveted profiles in the category, won by the coach four times at the helm of Novara, Cremonese, Pordenone and Modena. Should an agreement not be found, the Pescara management already has a plan B ready: Aimo Diana and Fabio Caserta.
Both have won the Serie C championship in the past, Diana with Reggiana, Caserta with Juve Stabia and Perugia. Diana, like Tesser, is still under contract with Vicenza after being sacked in December. Caserta, on the other hand, is on the market and if flattering offers do not arrive from some Serie B team, he would be happy to start the adventure with a team of the Pescara coat of arms.
However, a green line of the squad to be entrusted to emerging coaches should not be set aside. In this case the first candidate would be Andrea Chiappella, coach of Giana Erminio, capable of taking Gorgonzola’s team to the second round of the playoffs. Also liked are Andrea Dossena, fresh from his season at Pro Vercelli, and Federico Guidi, Roma Primavera coach and protagonist of an excellent championship, with the exception of the defeat in the Scudetto Final which was clearly lost 3-0 against Sassuolo.
Finally, in the last few hours the candidacy of Pazienza dell’Avellino has gained traction. The bitter elimination of the Irpinia team in the playoffs could lead the former Cerignola coach to leave Campania and embrace the Delfino’s ambitious project.
