Tuesday 28 Mayat the “Centre of Excellence” in Corigliano Calabro the IC2 “John Paul II” Orchestraparticipated in the VI International Sibaritide Competition.

A young one competition which is among the most important in the South for quality, prestige and number of participants (over 2500), organized by the “Chopin” Musical Association of Corigliano-Rossano in collaboration with the G. Paisiello Conservatory of Taranto, the Viva la Vida Association, with the patronage of the Calabria Region and the Municipality of Corigliano-Rossano.

The boys, led by teachers Maria Chiara Sacco, Carmine Lista, Ludovico Giannini and Rosario Calabrese were winners of the ABSOLUTE FIRST PRIZE with a score of 100/100 also receiving, among the passionate praise of the Commission, the “GIUSEPPE ROSETI” AWARD.

An amazing success that repays the children, parents and teachers for the hard preparation work carried out and for the sacrifices made.

On Saturday 1 June, in the evocative setting of the lush hall of the Corigliano Castle, the Headmaster Maria Carmela Stigliano, moved and proud of the unique result, accompanied by the teachers of the Musical Paths, collected the award amidst the applause of the attendees.

“All this would not have been possible without the precious and unconditional support of our Director, who has always supported us by enhancing students and teachers and investing resources for the growth of our orchestra”.
