The young people, aged 18 to 28, will be employed in various municipal structures.
A welcome moment was held on Monday 3 June in the Sala Giunta for the 16 guys who will carry out the year of Universal Civil Service at the Municipality of Monza, in the presence of the Youth Councillor.
Among the boys who took service, seven are busy as volunteers at municipal libraries of the city, four at them nurseries, two at the Civil protection And one at the Service Environmental Assessments – Energy, heating systems and networks.
Two more volunteers they will finally begin the Civil Service year at i nests of San Fruttuoso and San Rocco starting from 6 June.
The day represented not only a first moment of welcome, but also an opportunity to comparison with young people to introduce them to the reality of the Municipality and listen to their thoughts, their expectations and their first impressions.
The Universal Civil Service
Introduced in 1972 as an alternative to military service reserved for those who declared themselves conscientious objectors, participation is now on a voluntary basis and reserved for young people aged between 18 and 28.
It is a year of volunteer experience in public bodies or private bodies in the third sector (non-profit) to carry out tasks of social utility or cultural promotion.
The Universal Civil Service has among them goals that of being an opportunity for training and personal and professional growth for young people, who during the year also participate in general and specific training sessions and – throughout the entire experience – are followed by a manager within the organization .
