The commitment continues Local Police of Andria to protect the elderly through a final information meeting on the prevention and fight against scams, planned Wednesday 5 June 2024, from 7.30pm to 8.30pmat the Parish of San Giuseppe Artigiano in Andria, as part of the campaign created with the contribution of the Barletta-Andria-Trani Prefecture.
During the meeting, various topics will be addressed, starting from urban safety as a specific and civil coexistence, to continue with the contextualization of some episodes of crimes against the person and against property that create states of anxiety; unusual phone calls, pickpocketing, withdrawal scams; episodes with strangers knocking on the door offering products, services, insurance or changes in electricity or gas providers and telephone offers in general.
Furthermore, since December 2023, the Local Police Command has set up proximity services dedicated to patrolling and protecting the most frequented areas such as local markets, parishes, post offices and banking institutions, the latter especially during the pension provision.
They were guarded:
– the weekly markets, with the use of six agents in uniform and three agents in plain clothes,
– post offices and banking institutions in: Via Padre Savarese, Via Trani, Corso Cavour, Via Barletta, Via Traetta, Via Canal with the use of two self-assembled agents for each site;
– meetings at the Parish of Jesus Crucified and Our Lady of Pompeii, with the participation of the Silver Club Association, where the Command staff met over 200 senior citizens,
The meeting on June 5th will be attended by“The Readers’ Club” Association winner of the “Distrust Exercises” project.
