It is the lady-chef Nadia Cirillo of the “Ripari di Giobbe” restaurant in Ortona who won the 18th edition of the “Lu Copp d’Oro” gastronomic competition in the rooms of the Serena Majestic hotel in Montesilvano.
Cirillo won with a simple and appetizing dish like “Spring gnocchi with broad beans”.

It managed to beat the competition of the historic “Risotto alla Venturini” brought on stage by Lorenzo Leva of the Di Renzo restaurant in Chieti by just one vote.

The winners were awarded by the jurors Fabrizio D’Addazio, Davide Giffuni, Maria and Katia Angelucci with the model Francesca Sicignano, former Miss Adriatico 2022, at the end of a competition with ten dishes, one better than the other. The commission was chaired by the cooking master Santino Strizzi and the judge Italo Radoccia and composed, among others, of well-known figures in the sector such as Nuccio Campli, Franca Minnucci, Fausto Barattucci, Tommaso Masciantonio, Anna Savini, Barbara Di Marco and Alessandra Morena . For the best presentation, the award went to the award-winning chef Silvano Pinti with the “Squid and potato stew with pear-shaped tomato al coppo” while the jury prize shed light on the “Ravioli of rabbit, pecorino fondue and wild fennel” by William Moro and Stefano Ciccarelli from the “Al Vecchio Teatro” restaurant in Ortona, and the critics’ award for Vincenzo Di Donato’s “Baccalà mare e monti” from the Elena Resort hotel in Silvi. The revisited mugnaia by Luca Ortu from the “Lo shark” restaurant in Francavilla, the spaghetti all’ortolana by Alessandro Ugolini from the Ritrovo di Scerne, the fried lard with sweet pepper from Altino by Benito Taraborrelli from the La rondine restaurant would certainly have deserved greater success. from Guardiagrele and the tasty Monkfish with radicchio by Giuliano Diodoro from the restaurant of the same name in Silvi Marina.

Out of competition, the jury and guests at the event delighted in the Pallotte cacio e ovo and the real Bocconotti di Castelfrentano from the Italian champion of cooking for housewives Maria Angelucci. During the evening there will also be speeches by the winners of the Melody Festival Maurizio Tocco and Giuliana Marinelli. «I didn’t expect first place because the dishes were all of excellent quality», declares the winner Nadia Cirillo, «I want to dedicate this important recognition to a dear friend of mine who urged me years ago to participate in these competitions since she is unfortunately in intensive care with the hope that he will soon be able to cook among us again.”
