Music and solidarity: funds for missionaries – L’Aquila

THE EAGLE. With the delivery by the “Barbara Micarelli, open arms to good” association of a check with the amount raised, the 2024 season of the “Musical aperitifs”, a series of free concerts in the Renaissance hall of the Santa Maria Institute, ended. of the Angels of the Missionary Sisters of Baby Jesus of via Fortebraccio. Concerts that made it possible to raise a sum to be sent to the nuns’ missions around the world, in Medellin in Colombia and in the Philippines, structures that welcome hundreds of poor and disadvantaged children every day. The last evening saw the highly applauded performance of Trio 99. The “musical aperitifs” organized by the association, Carla Gonnelli president e Caterina Imbrogno artistic director, starting from January they saw the performance of the Chorale Novantanove, directed by Ettore Maria Del Romanoof the “Like a melody duo”, of the maestro’s students Carlo Benedetti with a tribute to Ferruccio Busoni and in memory of Lethea Cifarelli, a concert by the Assolo Choir directed by Rita Loggia and, finally, the “Serenatae” concert by Trio 99.
Barbara Micarelli’s Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Child Jesus, active in L’Aquila for over two centuries, are committed to young people, whom they teach by example and with cultural activities of all kinds. The association works for culture and the common good with a careful eye aimed, as mentioned, above all at younger people.
