Fabio Viganò he was born in Legnano, in the province of Milan, where he worked as a freelancer and Medical Director of the San Ciorain 14 veterinary clinic, which he himself founded in 1988.
Having graduated from the faculty of veterinary medicine with 110 cum laude at the University of Milan in 1987, Fabio Viganò obtained a university specialization in small animal diseases. His professional career soon turned to emergency veterinary medicine, opening this discipline to new scientific contributions and new development prospects.
With his passionate knowledge of the subject, Viganò was able to stimulate his colleagues to deal with emergency room and intensive care, when these disciplines were still considered emerging.
For SCIVAC he was speaker and director of over 50 courses in emergency medicine and intensive care, both basic and advanced. He was President and founding member of SIMUTIV (Italian Society of Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care) and – from 2005 to 2008 – President of SIARMUV (Italian Society of Anesthesia, Resuscitation and Veterinary Emergency Medicine).
He was an examiner for ESVPS (European School of Postgraduate Veterinary School) for the emergency medicine and intensive care itinerary.
