“There is a village in Massa – Stories, places and characters of Volpigliano” it is the writer’s new book Dino Eschini published by Tara Publishingincluded in the Myosotis series edited by Angela Maria Fruzzetti. With this work, Dino Eschini has “released the brakes on the steeds of imagination and memories” by putting together stories, poems and legends to offer a contribution to the life of a small and pleasant village, Volpigliano, not far from the historic center of Massa. Among the memoirs, he reports in the pages the mosaic laboratory of the Eschini family, a destination for numerous visitors and buyers. And it stands out among all the mosaic representing Saint George on horseback in the act of killing the dragon, an image that Eschini chose for the cover of his book. After “Puisie fole sentiments of a Massa that to me seems ‘ncammò beautiful”, this is the second volume that Eschini dedicates to his country, not neglecting the charm of dialect forms, a linguistic heritage to be valorised. The book also contains a tribute to the illustrious fellow citizen Giovanni Fantoni Libindo. The presentation will be held on Friday 7 June at 5pm in the Sala della Resistenza at Palazzo Ducale. Monica Gulminelli will host the event and the mayor of Massa, Francesco Persiani, the regional councilor, Giacomo Bugliani, the publishers Daniele Tarantino and Angela Maria Fruzzetti, and literary critic Marina Pratici will speak, with readings by the actor Fabio Cristiani. The event is sponsored by: Municipality of Massa, Confimpresa and the Insieme associations, Eventi sul Frigido, San Domenichino. Entrance is free.
