“Sanremo Festival? I have to think about the regulations first”

“Tim Summer Hits” is about to return, the musical marathon organized by Rai in collaboration with Roma Capitale – Department of Major Events.

The event, in which over seventy artists will participate, will be hosted by Carlo Conti and Andrea Delogu, will be held in Piazza del Popolo, from Tuesday 11th to Friday 14th June and will be broadcast on Rai1 starting from Friday 28th June.

At the press conference presenting the event, Carlo Conti played the role of the star: inevitably, the journalists asked him if this event is a kind of ‘date zero’ for the Sanremo Festival, of which he will again be artistic director for the 2025 and 2026 editions, and whether among the artists who will take the stage in Piazza del Popolo there is anyone who has thought of having the Ariston compete.

“I first have to think about the regulations, then about the young people, then listen to thousands of songs and select, it seems to me that the road is long”, replied the Tuscan presenter. And as for co-hosts, “those will be the last choice, you know that better than me”.

“When the proposal to present Tim Summer Hits was made to me, there was still no talk of the possibility of hosting Sanremo, I was busy and ready to see Fiorentina in the first leg of the Conference League quarter-finals. Then, taken by the enthusiasm for the team’s sporting performance, I accepted”, revealed Conti.

For him, among other things, it is the first time at Tim Summer Hits: “I am honored to do these events alongside Andrea Delogu, who I know well because in unsuspecting times I had included her in the Commission of my first Sanremos. It is an excellent presenter, she has ease of language, sympathy, panache, rhythm and has a musical ear to be on such a stage”.
